The Viral Protein Soda Recipe (clean version)
One of the many Utah trends that has taken over the internet. This drink is huge among the macro-counting crowds and it's a mix of diet coke and fairlife core power vanilla.
I’m currently living in Utah, so I obviously had to make a clean version (free recipe below).
The viral version has 170 calories and 26 grams of protein, making this ultra-sweet drink a huge hit among the “if it fits your macros” people.
Unfortunately, this viral combo (diet coke + fairlife core power vanilla) contains the following ingredients when combined:
Carbonated Water, Caramel Color, Phosphoric Acid, Potassium Benzoate, Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Caffeine, Aspartame. Filtered Lowfat Grade A Milk, Contains Less Than 1% of: Natural Flavors, Monk Fruit Juice Concentrate, Stevia Leaf Extract, Carrageenan, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Lactase Enzyme, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D3.
This drink contains three artificial sweeteners: Aspartame, Acesulfame Potassium, and Sucralose!
Here is the clean version (and macros) for your enjoyment:
Ingredients
¾ cup whole raw milk
25 grams raw organic whey protein powder (code MIAKAPRO to save 15%)
¼ teaspoon organic vanilla extract (optional)
Organic maple syrup to taste (optional, it’s already sweet)
Directions
Blend milk, protein, vanilla, and maple syrup.
Pour cola over ice.
Pour in protein mixture and stir with a straw.
Enjoy. :)
